Long Weekends

A long weekend, when everyone tries to get out and get away, is the opportune time to stay in New York City and explore with less crowds. Yes, one must still factor in the tourists. On Memorial Day weekend in Brooklyn, however, there was a noticeable difference in the amount of people and cars.

I love spending weekends outside of the city, but it’s great to be able to explore the city or town you live in. I encourage everyone to play “tourist” in their own town. One day, I would like to take a double decker bus tour or a helicopter tour through NYC. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to do that during the Fourth of July weekend, but I will be spending the weekend here to see the fireworks!

Unfortunately, Chicago is a madhouse on the 4th holiday. It’s wall-to-wall people all over the beaches and downtown.
