What are the Odds??!!!

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I’ve never been a mathematician, I’ve never taken kindly to numbers, but I would love for someone to explain the concept of odds to me one day. I’m still not convinced it’s purely numbers. Some things that happen are just too odd to explain! Why is it, that in a city as big as New York, I seem to run into the same people? Or better yet, the one person I don’t want to see is the person standing behind me in line at the supermarket? Or, the person who lives in the apartment next door, who I never see when I am at home, is the person sitting next to me in a downtown restaurant, when there are 8,000 restaurants to choose from in NYC.

I find it amazing that in my apartment building there are 25 floors with approximately 6-8 apartments on each floor, yet, I could live here the rest of my life and still manage to never see some of the people that have lived here as long as I have! Yet, there I am at an airport halfway around the world when I run into an ex-boyfriend I’d be perfectly happy to never see again….what are the odds??!!
