Airplane Bathrooms
Monday, April 7th, 2008The topic of bathroom cleanliness came to mind while on my most recent trip from LAX to PHL on Delta. Their bathrooms were fairly clean, they have a nice woodlike floor, and flight attendants were cleaning inflight. Continental bathrooms, on the other hand, were disgusting on a recent flight from St. Martin to Newark. Why can’t it be one of the tasks of the flight attendants to do a little wipe-down to make the facilities a little more presentable?
On flights with Asiana, the flight attendants would stop me before I went in the bathroom and make sure it was clean. While traveling right after the SARS phenomenon (not one person in the US died of SARS - hmmm - could it be our health care which we often criticize?), I flew Malaysia Airlines and the bathrooms were wiped down between each passenger. The flight attendants insisted.
Sometimes, I go into the bathroom on some flights and I think a pair of seals had been in there before me with all the water (or some other liquid) all over the place.
Please, tell me your horror stories!
